Funny I just listened to it the other night over a wee while and went deep into it, it just grasps you. It's tense, and very heavy I'd say, the emotions, the paranoia, claustrophobic fear, it's evident in lyrics and music. As far as masterpieces go, to me Suede and Dog Man Star are masterpieces. But...
Great song, absolutely love it to bits, like all of Dog Man Star, but Power is a kind of a fresh air moment on that album. It has some breeziness and positivity, though far from being your easy song. Don't get where the badly aged thing comes from?
Thought the single with Kurt Vile was great and had some tasty guitars like you said. Indeed a bit Bernardy! Though most rest of the album is a bit too samey and doesn't go anywhere for me. Whereas the Mazzy Star reunion album did.

Don't really like cats, the selfish bastards so would have a dog, but I believe owning one in the city is harsh on it and you should have one only if you live in the country or there's enough nature around for it all of the time.
